Kayla, LCSW Supervisee

As an adolescent therapist at Rhode Island Oak Counseling & Wellness, I have had the privilege of working with teenagers from all walks of life. With a decade of experience in various settings, including high schools and psychiatric inpatient units, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice. My passion for helping teenagers navigate the complex and often overwhelming challenges of adolescence stems from my personal and professional experiences. As someone who has been through the trials and tribulations of adolescence, I can empathize with the struggles that teenagers face in today’s world. As a licensed clinical social worker and holder of a Master of Social Work degree, I am well-equipped to address a wide range of issues that teenagers may be grappling with, such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and oppositional defiance.  Additionally, I specialize in treating eating disorders, addiction, and trauma, and I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ clients, particularly those dealing with gender dysphoria and transitioning. At the core of my approach is a commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where teenagers can explore their feelings and develop effective coping strategies. Drawing on my expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), art therapy, and sensory tools, I work collaboratively with my clients to help them build resilience, increase selfawareness, and achieve their goals. If you are struggling with any of these issues or simply need someone to talk to, know that you are not alone. Together, we can navigate the challenges of adolescence and help you emerge stronger and more self-assured than ever before. Please feel free to reach out to me to schedule an appointment.
